Letter from the Editor

Hello to all the new friends of Papa’s Pantry! We are so excited to reach outside our immediate doors, all the while helping your business and our in-house programs!

Papa’s Pantry began in 1998, providing food assistance for struggling families. During the first 5 years, while working a corporate job, all food was delivered to the families in their homes on evenings and weekends. On each visit, we would find ourselves “catching up” at the kitchen table, and many long-lasting friendships began. Relationship building is, and was, vital!

In June of 2004, Papa’s Pantry became a full-time effort as our first office opened in Canton… one room in a shared building —it seemed glorious! After 10 fast-paced months, we outgrew the space and relocated to our current location in Woodstock, near Bells Ferry and Kellogg Creek.

With mostly a volunteer staff, we are now able to offer mentoring, financial coaching, nutritional coaching (we even have our own organic garden behind the building!), goal setting, bible studies, and tutoring for children after-school. Food assistance, of course, is provided for families who are experiencing a shortage in their households.

I feel it is important to share with you our humble beginnings and the path the Lord provided as we’ve loved and served our community, and grown. How blessed we are to live where we can share our faith and worship freely.

Please help us as we present this resource to the entire community We need your advertising support and increased confirmed distribution locations.

Love and Blessings,                                               Lynne
